Working principle of stainless steel bimetal thermometer

Bimetallic thermometer is a single needle indicating thermometer that uses a bimetallic sheet wound into a spiral tube, one end is fixed, the other free end is connected with the needle, and rotates with the change of temperature, and drives the needle to rotate to indicate the temperature.

Main technical characteristics of stainless steel bimetal thermometer

Temperature measurement range: -80-600℃

Accuracy level: 1.0/1.5,

The indicating part of the thermometer: (according to the outer diameter of the thermometer dial) divided into φ60, φ100, φ150mm.

Liner length: 100-2000mm.

Liner diameter: φ6, φ10, (liner length 100-1250mm) φ12 (liner length 1250-2000mm)

Mounting part thread :M16X1.5; M27X2; G1/2; G3/4. Liner tube and fixing bolt joint are made of 1Cr18Ni9Ti stainless steel, withstand pressure 6.4MPa.

Installation requirements

On the installation of bimetal thermometer, attention should be paid to the accuracy of temperature measurement, safety can be checked and convenient maintenance, and does not affect the operation and production of equipment, to meet the above requirements, in the selection of thermal resistance installation site and insertion depth should pay attention to the following points:

(1) In order to ensure sufficient heat exchange between the measuring end of the thermal resistance and the measured medium, the position of the measuring point should be selected reasonably, and the thermal resistance should be installed near the dead Angle of the valve, elbow and pipe and equipment as far as possible.

(2) Thermal resistance with protective sleeve has heat transfer and heat dissipation loss. In order to reduce measurement errors, the thermocouple and thermal resistance should have sufficient insertion depth:

a. For the thermal resistance measuring the fluid temperature in the center of the pipe, the measuring end should generally be inserted into the center of the pipe (vertical installation or inclined installation). If the pipe diameter of the measured body is 200 mm, the insertion depth of the thermal resistance should be selected to be 100 mm;

b. For the temperature measurement of high temperature, high pressure and high speed fluids (such as the temperature of the main steam), in order to reduce the resistance of the protective sleeve to the fluid and prevent the fracture of the protective sleeve under the action of the fluid, the shallow insertion of the protective tube or the hot sleeve type thermal resistance can be adopted. The depth of the shallow plug type thermal resistance protection sleeve inserted into the main steam pipe shall not be less than 75mm; The standard insertion depth of hot-sleeve resistance is 100mm;

c. If the temperature of the flue gas in the flue is to be measured, the insertion depth of the thermal resistance can be 1 m, although the diameter of the flue is 4m;

d. When the insertion depth of the measured element exceeds 1m, it shall be installed vertically as far as possible, or support frame and protective sleeve shall be installed.
